Bio
Ali was 5 years old when his life changed forever.
"My mother had an asthma attack," says the soft-spoken young man. "She went to the hospital and never came back."
When his father couldn’t take care of him, Ali entered the foster care system. He’s been searching for a new family ever since.
He has spent most of his life in foster care.
At school, Ali’s favorite subjects are spelling and reading. In his free time, he likes basketball, football, action movies, comedy and hip hop music — especially the artist T-Pain.
One of Ali’s mentors at his group home has high praise for the quiet boy. He calls Ali "respectful."
"He’s a smart young man," the mentor said. "He listens a lot. Good hygiene. Polite. Good table manners."
Ali said he dreams of one day going to college for criminal justice and studying to become a police officer. He also wants to reunite with his brothers and sisters. And if he could travel anywhere, he’d like to one day see North Carolina and the beaches of Florida.
For now, Ali is looking for a "nice" family that is "easy to get along with."
His definition of family is simple: "People who take care of you. People to love you."
It is important to Ali that he can visit with his sister and brothers as often as possible.
