Something about working in a garden makes Nathan feel good. He doesn't mind getting dirty and he looks forward to the beauty of the flowers when they bloom. Bleeding hearts and roses are his favorites.
But not all his passions are so tranquil. For example, Nathan loves the noise and speed of racing go-carts, and he likes to go exploring on his mountain bike. Sure, he fell that one time and cut his arm very badly. But he was back riding in a few days.
Nathan has a good sense of humor and enjoys helping others. He is easy going and cooperative most of the time.
Nathan goes to a vocational school where he is learning "money math," with questions like how much change he should get when he buys something at the store. Right now, he works in a warehouse for a retail store. But eventually, he would like to be a mechanic. He's got a knack for machinery, like the old radio he took apart and reassembled.
Nathan misses his 15-year-old sister. It's been five years since he has seen her. Just recently, he started getting letters from her. She even sent some pictures. Just about every night, Nathan re-reads the letters. Being reunited with his sister and brother is Nathan's dream.
His ideal family? "They would take care of you."
