Bio
Sometimes, Jazzie pretends she's walking down the catwalk, even though she's just in the kitchen. She throws on a little makeup, and holds her head up high as she swishes her hips to and fro. All because she wants to be a model – or a veterinarian or pediatrician – when she grows up.
She has lived in several different foster homes. She wants, more than anything, to settle down in a family she can trust and depend on, who will never turn their backs on her. Jazzie is sensitive, sweet, popular in school and sometimes wise beyond her years.
When she describes herself, she says she is "sweet, kind, loving, passionate and friendly." She also knows she can survive any situation, no matter how good or bad.
“One minute I'll be so grown up but the next minute, I'm just a kid," she says, fiddling with the silver bracelet her best friend gave her, that she rarely takes off.
She fears small spaces – once, she panicked when she was stuck in an elevator for an hour. She likes basketball, baseball and wrestling. In school, she enjoys reading and history. She's extremely proud of making honor roll two marking periods in a row. Her teachers feel she demonstrates good study habits and other skills needed to succeed in class. She is an enthusiastic learner who strives for accuracy.
She enjoys listening to Alicia Keys, shopping with her friends, eating Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and mac n' cheese. She likes little kids, and singing songs from "Peter Pan" or "Grease," to which she knows every word.
If she had $1 million, she would "help the poor." With what was leftover, she would buy a car. Or visit Hawaii.
She loves holidays, especially Christmas. One of her favorite memories is when she woke up in 2002 on Christmas morning to snow covering the ground. She ran outside immediately and made a snow angel.
Jazzie takes out the trash and does the dishes because, "It's responsible," she says. Her advice to other kids entering the foster system is to "keep an open mind."
