Yomashei loves working with young children, enjoys clothes, fashion, music and has an overall enthusiasm for life. “I’m very curious,” she says. She enjoys science and art and likes to explore museums, like the Natural History Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, both in New York City.
These are likely choices for a 14-year-old, who seems equally as fascinated with science as she is with fine art. “I like the European paintings,” says Yomashei, who thinks that may have something to do with her interest in romance languages. “Spanish is hard, but I love French and Italian because the words are easier to pronounce.”
Yomashei aspires to have a career in medicine or mental health, so she can help people feel better about themselves. She has a sibling diagnosed with autism and she is very interested in working someday with children who have autism.
One way that Yomashei works on building her own self-confidence is by playing the piano. She has been taking lessons for five years and enjoys both classical and contemporary music. She hopes to find an adoptive family that shares her love of music, and maybe has a piano.
Most of all, Yomashei hopes to share her life with a person or family who remain steadfast with her triumphs and failures as she navigates the difficult ups and downs or growing up.
