Bio
James is an intelligent, artistic and very creative boy whose sense of humor and engaging personality have captured the hearts of staff members at his pre-adoptive group home.
In James' neighborhood, the kids like to ride their bicycles. He doesn't go along. "I don't have a bike," he explains.
Still, he says, it doesn't bother him too much. He has his own Gameboy and that occupies his time.
He loves to draw, do puzzles and crafts, and especially enjoys taking pictures with his camera. He can occupy himself for long periods of time with artwork and reading. In school, James is a diligent, conscientious student, who is proud of his accomplishments and is eager to please. The extra help he receives at school has helped him improve attention, language, and visual-motor skills.
Soft-spoken and reserved, James does well following directions. He likes to help his foster mother with the chores. When she makes chicken, he dips it in the seasoning and puts it in the oven. After meals, he washes the dishes and wipes the table.
Maybe, someday, he said he will open up his own restaurant. The specialties would be shrimp and barbecued ribs.
His fondest memory? A trip to Disney World. "I saw Mickey Mouse and Pluto and Goofy and Donald Duck," he recalls.
James isn't sure how many foster homes he's been in. Someday, he would like to become part of a family that "loves and cares about people and helps people out."
