“School can be fun,” Edwin says philosophically. “You’ve just got to make it fun.”
He does that by hanging out with his friends at school. Edwin likes math (“It’s a lot easier than reading,” he says).
Edwin likes to play video games and participate in sports. His favorite athletic activities are basketball and football. “My best sport is basketball,” he says.
When he’s not in school, Edwin likes to go out and find friends to do things outside.
He also spends time twice a week with a mentor, someone with whom he has a lot of fun.
“They really help you out,” Edwin says of his mentor. “Like a big brother. That’s what mentors are for. My mentor is very nice.”
He wants to help people when he grows up, so he’s thinking of becoming a police officer. But Edwin also loves animals, so he thinks he might want a career working with animals.
“Animals are nice to you if you’re nice to them,” he says. “They look up to you as an owner and a master and a friend.”
As for his idea of a perfect family, Edwin, again, is philosophical: “There’s no such thing as a perfect family. There’s nothing perfect in life.” He’s just looking for “someone who cares and loves me.”
