Ask Ashanti where she grew up and she will recite a long list of towns.
After years on the move, the bright teenager says she’s ready to settle down with an easy-going family.
"People who are fun, have a sense of humor. I just want people who are easy to get on with," she says.
Ashanti has big plans for herself. She wants to either work in law or science. And frankly, she confides, she’ll be good at whatever she does.
"I’m very good at defense," she says. "I have a keen eye."
Ashanti is a talented student who looks forward to her physics and English classes. Her proudest moment was winning her 4th grade spelling bee by correctly spelling "toupee."
The outgoing teenager likes to sing, dance and take drama classes.
Even if she finds a family to permanently adopt her, Ashanti says she’ll never forget her years in foster care. She plans to become a foster parent when she grows up.
"I want to help other people because other people helped me," she says.
