Strong and quiet, Jaquices enjoys playing football with his buddies. But he seems to enjoy spending time with his younger sister even more. She's been adopted. But they get to visit regularly. Nothing unusual. Just hanging out together in a park.
"I'm very protective of my sister," said Jaquices. "I try to make sure she does the right thing, hangs out with the right people."
It is extremely important that his bond with his sister is maintained. His idea of what the perfect family would be is: "Someone that cares for you and looks out for you."
The 15-year-old hopes to play football in high school. He knows that's an opportunity that comes from hard work. Already, he works out on his own, doing push-ups and sit-ups every day.
He is an active teenager who also enjoys swimming, basketball, soccer, roller skating, bowling, and watching movies, especially action and horror flicks.
In the summer he enjoys the beach and someday he would like to visit Florida. "It's hot, there," he said with a smile.
