Bio

What does Leonard want most in the whole world? That's easy.

"For my whole family to get back together, to live a better life," Leonard says.

His brother agrees. "To have my whole family together," Marcus says.

And if younger brother Ezekial could speak, you get the feeling he would say the same thing.

On this day, the three brothers - Leonard, Marcus and Ezekial - are together for the first time in a long time. They have been in foster care for about five years and are currently living in separate homes.

Leonard is the oldest. Marcus is close behind. They lovingly introduced their giggling youngest brother, who is developmentally disabled and unable to speak for himself.

"His name is Ezekial," Leonard said.

Leonard plays basketball and football. His favorite subjects at school are language arts, science and computer class.

Marcus also likes basketball. At home he watches "Supernatural" and "Smallville," drawn to science fiction stories about families breaking apart and coming together.

"They're talking about family most of the time and some of the families get split apart," Marcus said.

The brothers' proudest moments of their lives all involve school. Leonard said he was proudest when he graduated from middle school. Marcus was proudest when he saw his name in the newspaper for making the school honor roll.

What does family mean to these three brothers?

"Family means to me a lot because..." Marcus begins.

"...because you always have somebody to back you up," Leonard says, finishing his brother's sentence as Ezekial listens.
